Chris Townsend is widely recognized as one of the country's leading writers & photographers specializing in long distance backpacking and trekking. Norman Croucher
Norman Croucher, living locally in Topsham, is well known in outdoor circles. He has climbed extensively at home and abroad for over 40 yrs on artificial legs. He has written a guide to outdoor pursuits for people with disabilities, as well as his autobiography. His mountaineering ascents number 80 in excess of 10,000 feet and include the 6th highest in the world, Cho Oyu which rises to 26, 906 feet.
